Training for the Race of LIfe......Day 20 (Off Day)

Training for the Race of Life……Day 20 (Off Day)
After running yesterday I knew that I desperately needed a day off.  So Saturday became a rest day for me.  A day of playing with the kids and watching football (as well as taking off the trash and helping around the house).  Saturday night however we had a Sunday School party at the church and it was great fun.  It was a great reminder of how God blesses us with other people in our lives.  The fellowship was great, as was the food and the games.  We are definitely part of the family of God and it showed that night.  As we talked, watched our kids play together, and even got in a few games of ping-pong ourselves.  Sometimes it is just nice to kick back and rest, and enjoy being with people who are a part of your family.
We need one another don’t we?  God has wired us up for relationships.  The psalmist says, “He sets the lonely in families.”  And He does that in all sorts of ways but one way is through His church.  He gives us an opportunity to worship together, to learn together, to fellowship together, to eat together, to pray together, and just simply to be together.  The Bible says of those early disciples, “that they met together daily, for the breaking of bread, for fellowship, and for prayer.”  They were always together loving each other as part of the family of God and they serve as a good example for us today don’t they?  We ought to be looking for ways everyday to lift up Jesus together, to serve together, to encourage one another, to pray for one another, and to help one another.
Keep running with Jesus and if you don’t have a church family to be a part of - find one - ask God to lead you to one - it will help to change your life.
